The movie Avatar continues to break records in North America after recently being release in DVD and blu-ray format. Since the movie became available on DVD on April 22, it has sold more than 4 million DVDs and 2.7 million blu-rays. The movie needed to make a lot of money to cover the price of making it, which is estimated to be somewhere in the 300 million dollar range. So far the movie has earned well over a billion dollars when all is added up, and this number will continue to increase with the just released DVD and blu-rays version.
